Kilgore Fort House
The Kilgore Fort House, also known simply as Kilgore Fort, is a historic frontier fortification built in 1786 by Reverend Robert Kilgore near Nickelsville, Virginia. It is celebrated as the only remaining structure of a chain of 12 original frontier fortifications that once extended along the Wilderness Road from Castlewood to the Cumberland Gap to protect pioneer settlers.
